World Bicycle Relief empowers people across Africa by donating bikes. They believe in mobilising people through the power of bicycles so that distance no longer prevents access to healthcare, education and economic activity.
So far they have provided over 200,000 bikes to people in the majority of African countries the London2CapeTown expedition will visit: Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The work this charity does is invaluable in helping rural Africa to develop, educate their children and help fight diseases through increased access to healthcare, not forgetting the positive impact that exercise has on health.
Just £95 will buy a Buffalo bike that WBR will send to communities across Africa. We aim to fund the provision of 500 bikes as well as raise awareness of the positive impact that bikes can bring.
We’re planning to visit some of World Bicycle Relief’s operations in-person to see first-hand how our fundraising is put to good use.
